ACTUAL SITUATION Nowadays
I'm already back in the gym doing strechings, fitness exercices, aerobics
and spinnings. The backproblems are mostly gone. So I feel good. Topsport
badminton is not for me anymore because there would be a great danger
for new back injuries and I don't want to take that risk anymore.
So in a way of ending my topsport story I would like to thank my parents,
my sponsors, my coaches, my federation, my clubs and the many people involved
in badminton I know for supporting me during my career. I regret the few
that didn't listen to me...

The trainingcamp in Germany was good. Maybe the german players will come
to our badmintonschool for a few days training.

LAST 100 DAYS AT SECONDARY SCHOOL
Today we celebrated the last 100 days in the school
in Mortsel (Antwerp ). We all were dressed like paracommando. We also
had a party for the anniversary of "Michou" our educator at
the boarding school.

BADMINTON ACTIVITIES
For the moment I'm present at the trainingcamp in Haarlem - Duinwijck
where the players of our badmintonschool are training and sparring with
Dutch youth players. Jan Helmond is the trainer and I make video images
usefull to analyse the technical and tactical behaviour of our players
to improve their game. I'm also responsable to organise a trainingcamp
for our players in Germany during the month march.
These activities fill up my free time in a usefull way.

REVALIDATION 2004
The coming months I will be doing a lot of backexercises and short time
cyclings to get in good shape again. This means : daily visit to the fysio
and making the fitnessbike mine.

WINNER SPORTAWARD 2003
Yesterday evening I went to the nomination of the sportaward 2003 in my
city Kortrijk. I won the price and it felt good to be in the spotlight
again. :'-)
SPORTFIGUUR 2003
Gisterenavond was ik aanwezig op de uitreiking van de troffee sportfiguur
van het jaar 2003 in Kortrijk. De prijs viel mij te beurt en het deed
mij goed in de schijnwerper te staan.

INJURY
Due to a back injury I have to follow a long revalidation programm which
disenables me to train and to play tournaments/competition. I hope I will
be in good health after revalidation.

BOIC STAGE IN MULHOUSE
Today we are leaving with 107 junior atletes representing 10 sports (
badminton is one of them ) to a BOIC stage in Mulhouse. During a whole
week the atletes will be practicing their own particular sport but as
a group they will be introduced in the spirit of preparing to and participating
in the Olympic Games. You can already read a few words about it by clicking

EBT BERLIN
Actually we are placed 7th in the 1° Bundesliga competition. It has
been difficult to gain points due to several injuries in the team. Hopefully
the following matches will result in getting a higher ranking position.

SLOVENIAN JUNIOR
I'm out in the Slovenian Junior after playing the semi final ladies single
and semi final ladies doubles. I lost my single game against Spela Silvester
and played the double with the Slovenian girl Fink Mateja.

SLOVENIAN JUNIOR
For the moment I'm in Slovenia where I play the Junior tournament in the
ladies single and ladies doubles ( with Fink Mateja ). Later on you can
see my results in the item tournaments. ;-)

DUTCH OPEN
I lost the third round against the Russian girl. However in three sets
with a 9-11 score in the final set. It was a very tactical game and winning
chances were at both sides. :-(

DUTCH OPEN
I'm very happy with my performance today. It was some time ago I played
a senior tournament and it went well. I won my first qualification match
from the Filipinian girl Asuncion Kennie. It was hard (this first set
took 20 minutes). I won the second match from Cynthia Krajenbrink. Tomorrow
I have to face the Russian girl Ekaterina Ananina. If I win I go to the

I enjoyed playing the Langenfeld Junior and reached the semi final ladies

BACK FROM BERLIN
I'm back home from Berlin where I could train two weeks with headtrainer
of Berlin Mr. Kay Witt and the Indonesian trainer Mr. Bram Fernandin.
I spend a great time and trained a lot of multifeedings and played single
matches.

After the World Academy and having been training for a few weeks in the

WORLD IBF ACADEMY
From 13 july till 26 july I will participate at the IBF World Academy
( training camp ) that takes place in Sofia - Bulgaria. Gregory Verpoorten
goes with me as coach.

EBT BERLIN IS GERMAN TEAM JUNIOR CHAMPION !!!
:After winning the matches in our group, we won the semi final against
Beuel. In the final we played 6 - 2 against Neubiberg-Ottobrun and became
Team Junior Champion !

coming weekend I play with my club Berlin the national round. On saturday
two groups of four teams are playing three rounds and the winners play
on sunday for the third place and the final.

EUROPEAN JUNIOR CHAMPIONSHIPS
: I'm back from Esbjerg. In the team tournament we took the 14th place.
That means we have to play the Finlandia Cup again next season. The first
3 teams in the Finlandia can play the European Junior Team Championships
next time. In the individual I couldn't win the 1/16 final in the ladies
single. In the ladies double we reached the 1/4 final. See more in the

EUROPEAN JUNIOR CHAMPIONSHIPS : Tomorrow
we are leaving for Denmark to play the team and individual tournament.
Are playing : Charneux Laurence, Descamps Evy, Biesbrouck Elke, Than Yuhan,
Laguesse Gilles, Verleyen Koen and Warnotte Lionel. I'll play the single

LAUREAAT WEST VLAAMSE SPORTPRIJS BELOFTEVOLLE JONGERE
2002 : te Moorslede werd ik gehuldigd als
laureate van de West-Vlaamse Sportprijs 2002 ( categorie beloftevolle
jongere ). Ik was zeer vereerd met de prijs die mij te beurt viel. Een
waardering voor mijn inzet en de badmintonsport op zich. Hartelijk dank
aan allen die hun steentje bijdroegen !!!
WINNER WEST FLEMISH SPORTS AWARD 2002 ( JUNIORS
) : I won the

EBT BERLINER JUNIOR TEAM : after winning
the Berlin Team Junior Championships, we also won the North German Team
Junior Championships what means that we are going to the final on 2-3
may 2003.
( German Team Junior Championships ).

SUDIRMAN CUP : due to an injury I can't play the tournament. I
have to rest the whole week. I wish the team all the best !!!

GERMAN JUNIOR : I lost the 8th final against
the Korean girl Ha Jung Eun with 4-11/10-13. This girl finally won the
German Junior. After playing the Dutch Junior and the German Junior I'm
looking forward to play the European Junior Championships next month.

GERMAN JUNIOR : I won my first round on the main draw against the
Scottish girl Douglas Michelle with 11-3/11-8. I played a very good second
round against the Japanese girl Hayashi Yuka by winning with 11-5/11-5.In
the ladies doubles I played the 8th final with Descamps Evy. We lost against
two Korean girls.

BERLIN CHAMPION IN 2° BUNDESLIGA : during
the last competition weekend EBT Berlin proved that it is a valid champion
by winning against Wesel with 7-1 and against Gildehaus by 8-0 !!! It's
great for the team and we deserved to be champion which include that EBT
Berlin will be playing in the 1° Bundesliga next season.

Dutch Junior : I lost my first match on the
main draw against the Japanese girl Yu Wakita with 8-11/10-13. With Evy
Descamps I played the 8th final in the ladies doubles after winning against
two girls from Hong Kong and Sweden. The English girls were too strong

French Open : Against Zeng Yaqiong I played
a good match but lost the game by 6-11/3-11. Due to an injury I couldn't
play the ladies double.

I'm travelling to Paris to play the French Open.
I play the ladies single and the ladies doubles with Nathalie Descamps.
It will be very difficult in the single because my first round is against

For the second time in a row I won the Belgian Senior
Championships against Nathalie Descamps. This time in three sets
with 11-8/11-13/11-6 in the ladies single. In the ladies doubles I got
the silver medal by playing with Evy Descamps.

While I was playing the tournament in Waregem, the Berliner
team went on with the competition. They played 4 - 4 against number
two Hamburg. Berlin stays ahead with one point more than Hamburg. The
last competitionweekend is 01-02/03/2003. I won't be there because I play
the Dutch Junior in preparation to the E.K. Juniors in april 2003.

Today I won the international tournament in Waregem
( Belgium ). As well in the ladies single ( final against Corina Herrle
: 11-7/11-5 ) as in the ladies doubles( with Corina against Czerwienska
- Robbrecht : 13-11/11-7 ). I didn't play this tournament for two years
because of other obligations so I was very happy I could play it this
year. Thanks to my fans and the perfect organisation !!!

We won against Iceland. We only had to play the mixt, men's single and
women's single to be sure of the victory. So Belgium took the 5th place
in the Helvetia Cup!!! Final

Belgium ended second in the group with Portugal, Turkey, Estonia and Norway.
In the next round ( places 5 to 8 ) we played against Belarus and won.
So finally Belgium will play against Iceland for place 5 or 6. ( 19 countries
are participating )

Tomorrow I'm leaving for Portugal where I will join our seniorteam who
played in the past days the Portugal International. I join them to play
the Helvetia Cup. The Helvetia Cup stands
for the European B Group Team Championships as being the first stage of
qualification for the 2005 Sudirman Cup Finals. You can find the groups,
