Twenty cameras spanning a period from 1896 to 1994 are listed in ckronological order and by manufacturer here. For each, illustrations of the apparatus and some technical information are provided, and a recent photograph taken with the camera can be viewed.
It has not been the intention of this project to create a style, subject or technique of photography that is centemporary with the apparatus, but on the contrary to get an idea of the performance of these cameras when used for modern photography now, using up-to-date emulsions and printing techniques.
