INSTALLATION NOTES

Win_Tensor.msi is the Windows Installer Package for installaing the Win-Tensor program. Copy this file on your computer. Double click on it to launch the installation wizard. The program will be installed in Program Files/Win_Tensor. The shortcut for launching the program will be placed in: StartMenu/Programs/Tensor/Win_Tensor

When running for the first time on a computer, the windows for setting the default options will be presented automatically. After setting the options, they will be saved for future use as resident settings on the computer.

The data files with 'WTD' as extension (Win-Tensor Data) are defined as typical Win-Tensor data files. These are Tab-delimited text files that can be opened with Excel if the extension 'WTD' is changed into 'TXT'. It is a good practice to associate the WTD files with the Win_Tensor.exe program so they can be opened directly by Win_Tensor when double-clicking on them.

To associate WTD files with Win_Tensor.exe, it is necessary to define the program (Win_Tensor.exe) which should be used to open WTD files. The procedure is as follows (in Windows XP). First, activate the Control Panel using commands Start/Settings/Control Panel. In the Control Panel, choose Folder Options, and then select the Files Types tab. The list of Registered Files Type will appear with Extensions in regard of Files Types. Click on the New button and type as File Extension: 'WTD'. Confirm by pressing on the OK button. To set the program attached to that extension, select the WTD extension on the list and click on Change button. In the window Open With that appears, choose the program you want to use to open WTD files. Confirm and exit the windows. Now, all files with WTD extension should have the icon of Win-Tensor program and clicking on them will launch Win-Tensor and open directly the file in a new window.
