"Bob & Ray Throw a Stereo Spectacular"

REVIEW:

This is the wonderfull stereo demonstration disc that "Sounds in space", also on RCA Living Stereo (SP-33-13) but not on CD yet, failed to be, in spite of Ken Nordine's (far too short) presence. All tracks - wel, except Julie Andrews then - are wonderfull exemples of the extremely varied nature of Space Age pop. The five "Narrations with sound effects" by Bob Elliott and Ray Goulding are wild & wacky stereo experiments, performed by the mad Doctor Ahkbar. They include stereophonic bagpipes, a jet plane, creaking doors, cats, even a human clock swinging in three dimensions. Very very LIVING stereo indeed!

PS: a big thank you to visitor Lee Withers, who pointed out to me that the duo that actually performed the comedy bits were Bob Elliott and Ray Goulding, and NOT Bob Bollard and Ray Hall. Bollard and Hall are the only names mentioned on the CD booklet, as producers, and this made me believe THEY were THE Bob & Ray. But it was just a coincidence that those 2 engineers happened to have the same first names as the duo that actually performed the comedy bits.
