Operationnal since 1991 in the United states Army, the Hunter UAV is the result of long working partnership from
techniciens of MALAT from IAI (Israël Aircraft Industry).
This sytem is a compromise between a tactical aerial vehicle and the stategical long range vehicle.
His configuration bi-engines gives him good availability, maintainability and reliability; needed for flying over cities. He takes-off on a runway or with a RATO (Rocket assisted take-off).
Recovery can be made on short runway with arresting cable. The Hunter has a parachute only for emergency recovery.
ATLS (Automatic Take off and Landing System) can also minimize the critical controled take-off with human external pilot.
He can carry optical devices; television or infrared camera, scanner or laser designator.
He also has a IFF transponder (Identification Friend Foe) and radio control devices links UHF et VHF so that the pilot can always communicates with the Air Traffic controller.
The B-Hunter story will begin in April 2000 with personnel training courses and the validation will take place at January 2001.
