General appearance
Impressive, robust, elegant.

Character and behaviour
The Dogo Argentino is brave, persevering and obedient to his owner.
He is fast and his power is valueable for the Argentinian hunters.

Head and skull
Typically molossoïd, with a massive and convex skull
Strong head, nicely sculpted. The forehead riddles are visibles.
Lightly hollowed nose. Powerful jaws.

Mouth
Strong teeths

Eyes
Amply spread out, dark or hazelnut color.

Ears
Highly implanted, are raised or semi-raised, of triangular shape, generally very shortly cut.

Neck
Bent and strong, constitute riddles like the mastiff.

Limbs
Rear very muscular.
Front long and straight.

Body
Powerful, but not weighty.
Deep and extensive chest.

Feet
Round feet, very close and curved fingersPieds ronds, doigts bien serrés et cambrés.
Black nails. No pins

Tail
Long and thick, naturally falling.

Hair
Totally white, some light pigment spots are allowed.
Short hair, dense, pretty rough and thick

Weight and size
From 60 to 68 cm (shoulder height) and weight from 40 to 55 kg.

EXCLUSION FAULTS

General type
Size outside standard limitations with 2 cm tolerance.
Lack of type.
Rear trouble when walking.

Coat and eye
Spots on the body.
Long hair.
Light-colored eye (sometimes light blue).
Heterochromy (different color of the eyes).

Character
Too coward or too agressive.

Defauts
Prognathism or retroprognatism.
Monorchidie or cryptorchidie.
Deafness.

Others
Hanging lips.
Outstretched head.
White nose.
