I'll be the last person in the world who wants to compare Army Of Lovers with Vacuum or Alcazar. They are too different for that, but on the other hand, keeping them out this biography, will simply not make it complete.
The first time I heard about Vacuum was in 1994. The name was than the producer of the single 'Lit de Parade', but in 1997 they were more than just a name, they were selling records! The debutsingle 'I breath' was a huge succes. They could have been a worldsucces if they were taken seriously by their own recordcompany 'Stockholm Records'. The synthpop sound, mixed with very in-depth lyrics were refreshing, and not that commercial. Vacuum released two albums: 'The Plutonium Cathedral' and 'Seance of the Chaebol'. Alexander who was losing his believe in a recordcompany decided to sell his amount of shares in Stockholm Records and founded 'Bullgod'. Almost at the same time he left Vacuum and I knew that that would be the last time I'll hear anything again from Vacuum. Once again; a damn shame. In 2000 Vacuum had some disagreements with Stockholm Records causing a total freeze of Vacuum. They claim not to stop, just take a break.

Alexander left Vacuum but formed a knew band Alcazar. They are very promising; and although Alexander isn't on the frontpage anymore (like Anders Wollbeck in Army Of Lovers) he has some cameo parts in their songs. Alcazar is still young so it's hard to say if they will stand a succes in the commercial world, because that is what they are: commercial. Ask me that question again after their second album, if that one is coming. One thing is for sure; they have glamour, beauty and good music.
