I found this episode about a teen (even if he is omnipotent) and his problems very refreshing for the usually adult-minded Voyager episodes. (Note: I am a teenager, and this episode combined my two favorite things to watch on TV--star trek and teenagers solving their problems.) Q2 is trying to earn his father's pride and respect, however, it is to no avail. Finally he proves himself to be responsible if not quite heroic when he offers to sacrifice himself to save his newfound friend Icheb, (or as Q2 would say, Itchy.) The episode is comical and touching, and provides Q fan's with new insight into the Q Continuum's philosophy. Keegan de Lancie himself is a charming and eloquent person for a person his age and is immediately likeable, and quite cute as well. Whether or not the episode was superbly written, viewers were given a humorous episode that served as the "dessert" to the season's serious drama. Keegan did a great job portraying Q2, and helped solve the mystery that began in 'Q and the Grey'--after seeing the cute little blond baby on Q's lap, we all wondered 'what will happen with this kid'? The only question that was not answered in this episode is does Q's son 'save' the continuum? That's why Q had to go have a son, right? And we know the Continuum is still having problems, as Q mentioned in "Q2": "I'm the only one keeping them together." Or something like that, anyway... All in all, one of my favorite episodes of this season, and perhaps even the series.
