SAN offers a free
consultancy service to teachers and the association is happy to
visit schools where appropriate.
Parents of stuttering
children, teenagers and adults who stutter, friends, spouses, teachers,
health visitors and employers can speak in person about any issue
or concern related to stuttering.
This service is available in daytime and evening hours.
We provide information on the different types of therapy, new approaches
to therapy, links to useful websites, and new research and technology.
Our website is an ideal way to access help and information about
stuttering. It removes the barriers to asking for help, making communication
easier for those who need it.
Through these activities,
we aim to provide up to date information about therapy options available
to people who stutter. we also aim to empower stutterers to help
themselves.
In addition to
the above, SAN works to raise awareness of stuttering together with
those difficulties experienced by people who stutter. We aim to
initiate and support research into stuttering and whereever possible,
we aim to promote enhanced life experiences through shared understanding.
