Information

Dear visitor,

Ever since I took the course on tropical diseases at Prince Leopold Institute for Tropical diseases in Antwerp from 1995-1996 bertram has always been on my mind.

In the library of this famous institute, I found found a book called “Groot woordenboek der geneeskunde” which describes Anacyclus pyrethrum as a general poison against all cold-blooded organisms. I regarded the malaria-parasite as a sort of a small fish in the blood.

I contacted several professors and researchers and asked them to test the bertram-powder for malaria. But they were not interested. Natural herbs are often neglected and disapproved of in our modern western medicine.

For 15 years I have been practising the natural medicine of St. Hildegard and I have seen the wonderful results. All the time bertram was on my mind, especially when I heard about malaria, HIV and tuberculosis. I had to wait until February 2004.
In the meantime I read an article by Dr. Wighard Strehlow about "Der Bertram" in no. 10 issue of “Hildergard Heilkunde” (Förderkreis Hildegard von Bingen-Konstanz).

Hufeland, the personal physician of Goethe, found that bertram was the best remedy for intermittent fever.”

I made the link to malaria. Malaria is the most important illness in the world. Every year one to three million people die of malaria, most of them young African children. ( Harrison’s principles of Internal Medicine 15th edition 2001) This is the background to the wonder herb/drug Bertram. Below is an account of practical field work that is beginning to take place in Zambia, Central Africa.

First trip to Zambia: 20 February – 2 March 2004

Together with a friend I travelled to Zambia. I visited a Belgian nurse in St. Francis Hospital in Katete. On 26 February 2004 I met Mr. Boston Musonda on a jeep-trip to Lusaka. I explained to him the use of the herb and I gave him my last box of bertram. He accepted it. He told me about his family and his plans for the future. We became friends immediately. Back home we kept in contact by e-mail and I sent him bertram by post on a regular basis.

Second trip to Zambia: 12 November – 23 November 2004

Together with Mother Myriam Verheijen-Biesemans (co-founder of the community Star of David, she gave me 15 years ago the medical works of Hildegard 15 years ago. Mr. Musonda distributed for nine months the bertram I had given him for nine months, from February until November 2004. We received a warm welcome by the people of Mansa. We gave lectures and visited sick people in their homes.

One of the members, Christopher, told me that he had been tested malaria+++. After taking bertram no more malaria parasite was found in his blood. A woman, Elisabeth, who was lame because she had been sick for more than five years, could walk again.
Georges, the secretary, could read again the bible again after using bertram. Boston Musonda, the chairman, saw the results in himself and also in the other bertram clients. Read his personal testimony.

                           Children of Mansa

The Bertram Project Zambia Foundation was founded with five men from Mansa, mother Miriam and me. We had our first meeting in Chukwuma Guesthouse on Friday November 19. But the date of founding is put on November 21 because this is a feast of Mary. On November 20, the day that we left Mansa we stopped at the filling station. There we saw a young healthy man, Mr. Musonda called him and asked him to show the photo of the period that he was ill. We didn’t believe our eyes. The man was almost dead and has become alive again. He is a bertram-client. He received also ARV’s but only after using bertram the CD4 count were up. So told us Boston.

We also visited "Our Lady's Hospice" in Kalingalinga. This hospice is directed by sister Crusis and the manager is a Zambian.

Third trip to Zambia: 10 December – 31 December 2004

In Luanshya we looked for work and visited another hospital, the private hospital of teh mines. There also is only one doctor for the whole hospital. We had a good conversation and we gave him a box of bertram. We travelled to Mwansa and met our friends.

The registration of the foundation is almost ready. Again we hear beautiful stories about bertram. There are problems with a big parcel of bertram I sent. The pharmacy and poison board asks for more information. We phoned and faxed them, and everything was sorted out.

Fourth trip to Zambia: 28 February – 14 April 2005

Purpose: to bring a home-car from Dar Es Salaam to Zambia.

On Easter Monday we had a general meeting of the BPZF. Mr. Boston Musonda and friends are working very hard. There is already an office in NAPSA building. There is a house of the Bertram Project Zambia Foundation. The house is called House of Hope!!! We talk to the people who are waiting. The people of Zambia are very friendly, and thankful. The we had a meal together and the date for the launch was fixed on 21 July. This is the national holliday in Belgium. So we hope people will come easily from Belgium to Zambia. Back in Lusaka we visited a school, a hospice, family-members. Always we promote bertram. The home-car is used for travelling and promotion. The Mother of Mercy Hospice in Chilanga is a beautiful example. A Polish nun showed us the hospice. Twenty beds are enough she says. Then it is like a home. We saw a picture of the Gospa of Medjuugorje and we felt it as a welcome. This was our general experience: we are very much welcome in Zambia!

Fifth trip to Zambia: July 2005

The constitution has been registered on the 12th of April 2005. The number of members has already increased till 17 persons. For now, I travelled with Father Daniël Maes, creator and responsible man for the community Star of David (I have been a member of this community for 15 years), and also Paul Schoofs, a medic. The Bertram Project Zambia Foundation is now approved by the Zambian government as a NGO (Non Governmental Organisation).
Purpose of the fifth trip: the official launch of the Betram Project Zambia Foundation on the 21st of july 2005, our own Belgian national holiday, isn't that a wonderful day to link both countries by our Foundation!

My next trip to Zambia will be on the 17th of April, 2006.

Official launch in Mansa!

I hope I can welcome your financial support, so that I can help these people, so that we can built a hospice for terminal patients and so we can make local knowledge of bertram and distribute the powder.
