Twan Bearda


Twan Bearda (1973) graduated at the Royal Carillon School Jef Denyn in Mechelen in 2002. He started his studies in 1991 with Peter Bremer, and afterwards he took lessons with Eddy Mariën and Geert D'hollander at the Royal Carillon School, and with Boudewijn Zwart in Dordrecht. Twan participated in several carillon competitions, and in 2003 he won the first prize in the prestigious Queen Fabiola contest for carillon. Together with Luc Rombouts, carilloneur of the university carillon in Louvain, he forms the quatre mains duo The Bells Angels. As a profession, Twan works at imec, a research institute for micro-electronics in Louvain.
