HELP CSO STAY ON LINE

Latest reports shows that the CSO site is a very busy site.
The people running it are making the costs all by themselves. You have the possibility to make a donation, though this is not going as expected. If you are a real CC fan, you will know that in the past there was also a very good CC site called CC.NET. Due to the high costs of maintaining the site and not enough donations, the owner of this site has closed this site. It looks like the same thing will happen with CSO (I HOPE NOT). Or maybe they will have to remove the DL section. Let us make sure this does not happen because CSO is now "the place to be" for CC!

Information On Helping The CSO Website
Many of you will have used the CSO website over a long period of time and are aware of the high cost that this has involved over the years.
It was decided a long time ago not to place huge ads all over the site and have pop ups and other annoying things added to the site to fund it.
Primarily the site has been funded by myself over a number of years as a free service to all the great mod makers and map makers out there and to keep CC alive and well despite the demise of Atomic etc.
This is the first time in the history of the website (now over 5 years old) that I have asked for any help at all outside of the CSO membership. (they helped upgrade us from the original froums to UBB then to VBulletin)
CSO has now moved to a new high speed 600 GB a month server as of September 2003. I am asking for donations to help CSO stay online both now and for the future. We currently host over 1239 files for Download and we have served 2197.15GB in files since May 2003 alone.
I would gladly go on funding this myself, but my situation is different than it was even 2 or 3 years ago and I am no longer in a position to fund this out of my own pocket. Some of you will know the huige costs involved in the amount of files that CSO has carried over the years.
I am aware of the allegations of certain people about websites making money from mods etc, but the simple truth is that
if there is no way to recoup the money for bandwidth then the sites will die. Just like the mod makers this is a service
provided, and by this site its been free for a long time, the sites take a lot of maintaining (ask JimmyD lol) and if the situation ever arose where you broke even on bandwidth charges you would be very lucky.
This is purely voluntary, if you would like to help, then please do so, if you think we have in the past and are now
offering a good service, then feel free to help. If you cannot help, then enjoy the mods and thanks for taking the time to read this.
