Partially finished airframe of the Navy Wright "Mystery" racer with a Wright Model T-2 V-12 engine installed. Note the two cylindrical radiators for engine cooling and the smaller oil cooler above. The crank handle protruding above the engine is the manual starter. This crank spun up a flywheel which rotated the engine crankshaft when engaged. The machine appears to be tied down for engine testing. This photo dates to 1922 at the Wright Aeronautical plant in Paterson, New Jersey.

On February 16, 1932 she married Delmer Bennett in Poughkeepsie, he predeceased her in 1999. Gertrude worked as a bookkeeper for Carmel Lumber. Survivors include her children, George and Delmer, Jr., her sister Kay Somerville, eight grandchildren and twelve great grandchildren. She is also predeceased by her daughter Kay Cromarty, sister Anne Boalt, and brothers Marinus, Ruloff and Paul.

Born and raised in Kent Cliffs, Mr. Bennett lived in Mahopac for 62 years prior to moving into the nursing home in 1990. He is survived by his wife Gertrude of Mahopac; sons, George of Mahopac Falls and Delmer, Jr. of Somers; brother Dorsey Bennett of Carmel (former Justice of the Peace & Councilman in Kent); sister Georgia Adams of Stormville; and by 8 grandchildren & 13 great-grandchildren. He was predeceased by a daughter, Kay Cromarty, two brothers & seven sisters.
