Not too much information with this demo coming from The Netherlands… and even if the band’s website address is printed on the backside of the cover, I feel a little bit too lazy to visit their domain to find any kind of interesting information. It doesn’t take you too long to understand the musical concept beyond «Tragedy Of The Commons». It’s a kind of mature and complex interpretation of the doom metal genre. The band is on a par with acts such as My Dying Bride or Opeth (for instance), offering some four long songs of depressed slow doom metal with a strong (and quite natural) inclination towards death metal (mainly referring to the inclusion of very nice accelerated passages). The demo opens with the ten minutes long «Nocturnal Whisperings» which is the perfect summary of In Age And Sadness musical world. Dark and sad in an aggressive kind of way. Also to be mentioned is the deep-throated vocal work that perfectly compliments the band’s musical direction. A very good surprise and a nice demo.
