I already reviewed the thrash death metal of this Finnish five-pieces
and if I’m remember well what we get here is once again some kind
of enjoyable (as enough catchy to stay in your mind after a few spins
and enough fast paced to delight the fanatics of the genre) thrashing
death metal. Scandinavian death thrash metal influenced music is the
name of the game here but «Retaliate» is eventually not
that simple to describe though. The music delivered throughout the band’
second demo work is pretty fast although not incredibly violent with
some strange (for the genre) almost N.W.O.B.H.M. riffs, and screamed
vocal sections. The mixing may at first sounds a little bit disturbing
but it also gives Hateform’s music a different approach. It seems
to me that this demo has achieved what it set out to do, to prove that
Hateform have something different to offer within the usual death thrash
limits. Try.
