With some three demo-works in circulation under their previous moniker
Krom, this Italian progressive black metal band strikes back again with
four long musical experimentations. Kailash (the house of Shiva) deliver
what you can regard as experimental black metal with a good inner violence
running underneath its originality. Due to continuous alternations of
timings (which range from half paced almost doom orientated passages
to more accelerated ones), Kailash create a kind of personal version
of the traditional black / dark metal standards. The continuous changes
in both rhythms and atmospheres create a kind of general de-structured
guideline which prevents a direct and easy accessibility but on the
other side, it makes the material recorded here come out quite versatile.
The song-structures are non-predictable with some nice twists that include
tons of atmospheric passages (as witnessed by the multi-structured «Spectrum»
for instance»). A solid effort (despite some jazz references)…mainly
dedicated to the most open-minded black metal listeners.
