Membaris are another newcomers of Germany’s apparently ever expanding black metal scene and this is their first full length (recorded some two years ago now… a new album titled «Into Nevermore» shall be released in the coming months). «Poetry of Chaos» finds the band tapping in on both melodic fast paced black metal (a little bit reminiscent of the Swedish wave: Dark Funeral or even Dissection for the melodic guitar lines) and more old school black metal patterns. Melodic fast paced black metal is not exactly ground-breaking these days but those German musicians go at it with some interesting personal ideas and have in some ways produced an album that is well worth the money you shall spend to buy it. «Poetry of Chaos» is simply the kind of albums that reminds you why you listen to black metal; it doesn’t really sound fresh or innovative but it gets your blood pumping. So a good solid album of black metal (the best music in the world) with enough character to appeal to a large array of listeners without sounding repetitive or predictable.
