Founded back in 1996, Methedras shall soon be regarded as veterans within the italian thrash metal scene. I really don’t know how many recordings they already released (and their bio is simply too long for my natural laziness) but this album really sounds impressive and professional in both songwriting and musicianship abilities departments. Methedras fuse the technical instrumentation of the mid-eighties bay area thrash metal vein (Forbidden Evil, The Legacy, Exodus…) and european melodic elements together with a very good vocal approach. Production wise, Methedras don’t want (or can’t afford) a first rate sound, but on the other side, «Recursive» sounds whole lot more direct and fresh than most of the nowadays thrash metal releases.
