General rules This is a free club who organises ONLY thematic e-mail chess tournaments. When a player hasn't started a thematic tournament a year after joining THEM he will be removed from the players list. The official notation used in THEM is English short algebraic. If you don't know this standard, please have a look here. PGN paragraph style format should be used for sending moves. If you don't know the PGN-heading look at an example here. The entire game record for each game should be sent in every message. Clerical errors are binding and once send, cannot be taken back. This is the e-mail chess version of the touch move rule. THEM players are requested to keep a polite and friendly relationship, having into account the social, cultural and ethnic differences among the club members. Use of computer chess programs to check your moves or to find the best move is forbidden, it takes away from the spirit of human competition. Win modestly, and lose graciously ! When someone is going on a vacation, please inform THEM and your opponents. Please do this also when your e-mailaddress changes, it's a way of politeness. If you have any questions please contact Denis Hebbelynck. |
