On the moment we cross the border between Jasper and Mt Robson provincial park, we see Mt Robson for the first time. It is a little bit cloudly and by this, we just can't see the peak of the mountain. Behind the highest mountain of Canada, we see the blue Mt Robson Glacier.
It is 8 o'clock in the morning and already a lot of people are already walking on the path.
After one hour, we arrive at the valley of the thousand falls. This valley leads us between the mountains downwards to the entry of Mt Robson provincial park.
As the name of the place already mentions, a lot of beautiful falls are visible from the path. We have to cross the river a few times on well maintained bridges. Although they look very strong, we heared afterwards that all these bridges were flushed away by swollen rivers due to bad weather. Three days after we left this place, all hikers have been evacuated with helicopters.
At the entry of the provincial park, we end our North Boundary Trail between a lot of tourists.
From the entry, it is only some 30 minutes walking to the highway. It is not necessary to say how delicious the burgers tasted...
At the highway, there is an information centre for hikers of Robson Provincial park. You can find information about weather conditions, spotted bears and path conditions. There is also a list of the days on which the top of Mt Robson was visible in the past months (It was the first time in 1 month that clouds blocked a good view).
The woman of the transport company that dropped us at the start, came to drive us to the centre of Jasper.
