Camping spot After descending McLarenspass, we arrive on our fourth camping spot. This place lies in a narrow valey with a nice river. Due to the rain, the surroundings were drown and by this, a lot of hungry mosquitos were present.
Nice people in Canadian wilderness This is the place where we met Anna(Rennee). She's has Mexican blood, but lives in San Diego where she teaches native languagues. We had a lot of interesting, cultural talks about the native people and the contrasts with the American society.
This is also the spot we met Kevin and his friend. They are both from Edmonton where Kevin works in a youth prison. They had a lot of hiking experience and told us a lot of stories about grizzlies that especially liked European people. After our trip through the Rockies we met them again in Edmonton where they showed us some nice places to have a beer.

On the way to Three Slides Mark of Black Bear Our next day trip was the one to Three Slides. This mainly flat trip led through some beautiful swamps. This day, we probably found the most bear tracks. (The picture on the left is a mark from a black bear pat). Luckily, we did not encounter the bear himself. Anna did. The day before, she met a female one with three little ones on less than 20 meters. The mother bear sent her pubs into a tree and was standing straight while she was moving her head. Anna jumped behind a pine tree and whistled. The four bears left the place. Not necessary to say she stayed there for a little while longer...

On the way to Three Slides At the end of the day, we finally arrive in a camping spot called Three Slides. This name came from the mountain which indeed was composed of three slides of rock. Far away, a glacier was visible. The lake was functioning as mirror and some nice pictures could be taken from this reflection. Anna fished in this lake, but did not manage to catch a trout. So we had pasta again as dinner...
