TTT Rules for
Dailygammon
1.
What is TTT
TTT stands for Tric Trac Tourno. It’s a friendly 1-point
tourney with maximum 24 players. The playsystem is round robin so everybody
plays everybody, all players will end up with 23 games.
2. Sign up
A thread will be started on the discussion board titled
“TTT.. - Sign up thread : enter now”. You can enter by simply typing ‘in
please’ on the thread.
When a new sign up thread is started, players who are not
involved in another TTT will be given priority, this to give everybody a chance
to play.
3. Inviting
As soon as a TTT is full a new thread will be created called
“TTT.. : Line-up and reporting thread”. All players will have a number from 1
(top of list) to 24 (bottom of list), you are supposed to invite all players
who are above you on the line-up. So player 2 invites player 1, player 3
invites players 1 and 2 and so on, player 24 (who’s at the bottom of the
line-up) invites all players since they are all above him/her in the line-up.
There will be a link in the thread to my website where a
line-up/invites page will be present for the current TTT. On that page you’ll
see a link to the player’s game page and a link saying “invite this player to a
game in this TTT”. By clicking the latter link you will automatically send a
correct invite to that player. Make sure you only click it once, if not more
than one game will be started! If that would happen then only the game with the
lowest game number will be taken into account for this TTT.
Please make sure you only use the line-up/invites page to do
your invites!
4. Reporting
The loser reports result in the “TTT.. : Line-up and
reporting thread” in the following way : “lost single/gammon/backgammon to
winner” and replace ‘winner’ by the correct and full nick of your opponent.
Don’t forget to mention the kind of loss (single, gammon or backgammon) since
that’s what counts for the points (see “5. Scoring”). Winners should make sure
that result is posted by the loser but allow loser enough time to do so, think
about possible roll-backs and about the fact that your opponent may not be
on-line at the same time as you. You can always check your opponent’s game page
to see if the game is still on it under active games. In general allow your
opponent 24 hrs to report. If you report a missing result or if you contest a reported
result, make sure to include the game link of the game(s) involved.
Please report all results immediately after the game is
finished, it’s easier for your opponent to control if the result has been
reported and it also helps me when I run a check.
Dropping a note when all your games are finished is highly
appreciated! ;-)
5. Scoring
Points are awarded as follows :
Ø
loss : 0.5 pt
Ø
single win : 1.0 pt
Ø
gammon win : 2.0 pt
Ø
backgammon win : 3.0 pt
The player who collects most points in all of his/her games
is the winner and becomes the new TTT Champ. In case of equal points we have
the following tie-breaker :
Ø
win/loss record
Ø
number of backgammon wins
Ø
mutual result
Ø
replay 1 game round robin between players involved
On the external link TTT-Pages you will
be able to see a full game schedule with all results as well as an official
scoreboard, scoreboard by average points scored per game, scoreboard by
win/loss record and scoreboard by finished games. Make sure to check it out as
much as you can, it may help you to see who’s doing well and who’s not. Try to
check the game schedule every once in a while for missing results, it’s very
easy to use.
6.
Timing out
We are playing with the ‘move
once a day’ time-limit. Any player who times out in 1 game will be expelled
from the entire TTT and no results against him/her will be taken into
consideration.
7.
Resigning
NEVER, and I repeat, NEVER resign
a match in TTT. Score-wise it’s very important to know if it was a single,
gammon or backgammon win so please play all your games till the (sometimes
bitter) end, even when you’re convinced a gammon or backgammon isn’t possible
anymore. No points will be awarded for a resigned match to the player who’s
resigning, the opponent will get the highest mathematical possible result left
in the game. A player who resigns all of his remaining games will be considered
as wanting to leave the TTT and will be expelled right away. Depending on the
circumstances he or she can be refused to all future TTT’s. If that player
hasn’t any finished games yet he or she can be replaced by a new player.
8.
Complaints
Please don’t send me any personal
messages with results, missing results, contesting of a result or whatever. I play
from different pc’s and don’t always have access to my TTT-database. Since it’s
impossible to keep a personal message (without copy/paste) I prefer you to post
in the thread involved. If really necessary you can always send me an e-mail at
erik.schoenmaekers@gmail.com.
9.
TNT specific rules
TNT stands for Tric Nack Tourno,
the principle is entirely the same as in a regular TTT but instead of
backgammon you play nack. The rules are the same as well, just replace all
TTT’s by TNT.
10.
Team TTT specific rules
In a Team TTT 2 teams of 24
players will play eachother according to the TTT rules with a few differences :
Ø Every
player of the visiting team (the team mentioned in 2nd position)
will invite every player of the home
team (the 1st mentioned team) via the line-up/invites page on my
website
Ø If
any player of any team times out in 1 game then he or she will not be expelled
from this Team TTT
Ø Every
team will have a captain who keeps an eye on the games and scores
Ø The
team who scores the most points in the end will be the winner
Ø In
case of a tie the number of backgammons will be the tie-breaker, if still a tie
then the following will be done : a round robin with 5 players of each team.
The 5 players are the captain, the best player, worst (or less good, whichever
you prefer) player and 2 other players to be appointed by the captain of every
team. If the captain is the best or worst player then the 2nd best
or worst will be taken. If more players are tied for best or worst player then
it’s the captain who decides who plays.
11.
Important
I reserve the right to take a
decision based upon common sense rather than using the rules mentioned above if
I see or feel the need to do so. I also reserve the right to refuse any player
to a TTT without having to give a reason.
